Learning New York

Welcome to my site. This site is intended to be a resource to those who would like to know a little more about me and what I do.

I am currently a mortgage backed securities analyst in New York . I recently recieved my master's degree from Brandeis University which focused on international finance and economics. Last year, I had the opportunity to study at l'Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) in Cergy-Pontoise outside of Paris. Before studying at Brandeis, I received my B.A. in math and B.S. with distinction in Economics from the University of Washington. My thesis paper was an econometric analysis of policy change and oil dependence in Mexico from 1979-2004. While studying at Washington, I also spent a semester studying at the Universidad de Sevilla in Seville, Spain. Last summer, I held a full time position at Centage Corporation in Natick Massachusetts as a financial consultant.

Pretty boring huh? If you have made it this far I am impressed. It's not like I went to a bunch of fancy schools or solved all the problems of quantum physics by 23. I am pretty lucky though, to have been able to do many of things that I have done thus far. You should know though, that I'm not all business. I do have a life outside of work. Recently I have been getting into web design and creating mulitmedia images, all inspired by and with the help of Jerlyn Thomas.

Besides the internet, I am really into music. I have been producing some music of my own in my spare time and play the drums, the guitar and have been trying to dabble in a little piano. At one point, everyone was really impressed because I'm a private pilot. The truth is I haven't flown in a while because I had such a hard time financing such an expensive hobby. I still have my license though, and if I have the time and the money to devote to it in the future, I think I will take it up again. I also have been taking Kokondo Karate for about a year and a half and am really into it. I hope to jump right back into it when I have the chance.
